Inversion Space is building a global delivery service in space
Technology
A California startup called Inversion Space is building the Arc spacecraft, designed to send up to 225kg of cargo from low Earth orbit to anywhere on the planet in about an hour.
Their main goal? Helping the military get supplies quickly to tough-to-reach spots.
The first Arc launch is set for 2026.
Arc can keep cargo in orbit for 5 years
Arc uses a deorbit engine and steerable parachutes for precise landings, plus it can keep cargo in orbit for up to five years before delivery.
Earlier this year, Inversion Space tested its tech with a smaller craft called Ray on a SpaceX mission—despite some propulsion hiccups, they validated key technologies.
By 2028, they hope to have hundreds of Arcs flying as part of a full delivery network.
