Karnataka launches composite digital crop survey pilot across 5 hoblis
Technology
Karnataka just rolled out the Composite Digital Crop Survey (CDCS), a technology-upgraded version of its earlier crop survey.
This pilot project will be implemented on a pilot basis in five selected hoblis and brings in high-resolution satellite images, drone mapping, and AI to get super-accurate data on what's growing where.
Officials say CDCS improves crop data
With tools like synthetic aperture radar and machine learning in the mix, officials say the CDCS will make crop data much more reliable.
Pankaj Kumar Pandey, Principal Secretary, Department of e-Governance, shared that this will help Karnataka make smarter decisions about farming policies and keep agriculture future-ready.
