Kim Kardashian invited to join alien comet team

Technology

Harvard astrophysicist Avi Loeb has invited Kim Kardashian to join his team in investigating comet 3I/ATLAS, a rare interstellar visitor.
It's only the third object of its kind ever spotted in our solar system, and it's got scientists—and now at least one celebrity—curious about its true nature.

Comet's strange features spark theories

This comet isn't your average space rock. It glows blue (even bluer than the sun), moves in odd ways, and sheds nickel with very little iron, a pattern only seen in the industrial production of nickel alloys.
Loeb says these features might hint at an internal engine rather than natural causes.

NASA responds to Kardashian's query

NASA's acting chief has brushed off the alien theories, but Loeb and some lawmakers want access to high-res images NASA took last month—which are still locked up due to a government shutdown.
After Kardashian publicly asked about the comet, NASA responded quickly, but scientists are still waiting for those crucial images before 3I/ATLAS swings by Earth in December.
