Meet Dr. Kamna Shukla: Wife of India's recent astronaut
Shubhanshu Shukla just became the first Indian astronaut in over four decades to reach the International Space Station.
He took off from NASA's Kennedy Space Center as part of the Axiom-4 mission—a team-up between NASA and SpaceX.
This marks a big moment for India, coming after Rakesh Sharma's historic space journey back in 1984.
TL;DR
Shukla's family and community have been cheering him on
Shukla credits his wife, Dr. Kamna Shukla, for standing by him through all the challenges leading up to this mission.
His family and community back home have been cheering him on every step of the way.
Looking ahead, he's also set to fly on India's first human spaceflight mission with ISRO in 2026—so there's even more excitement on the horizon for Indian space exploration.
