Micromax launches Bharat5 Pro with 5,000mAh battery at Rs. 7,999

Micromax has launched its Bharat 5 Pro smartphone in India. The phone appears to take on Xiaomi's Redmi 5, which also launched in the Indian market on the same day. In fact, the two phones also share the same price tag of Rs. 7,999. The company said, "Bharat 5 Pro will surely offer a complete package to the consumers at a very affordable price."

Turn the phone into a power bank with reverse charging

The biggest USP of the phone is its 5,000 mAh battery. It sports a reverse charging feature that converts the smartphone into a power bank. The dual-SIM phone features a 5.2-inch HD display, 3 GB of RAM, a 13MP rear camera, and a 5MP front camera. In comparison, the Redmi 5's base model with the same price tag features 2 GB of RAM.

Bharat 5 Pro features face unlock, front camera LED flash

The Micromax Bharat 5 Pro runs the Android Nougat operating system and is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor. It comes with 32 GB of inbuilt storage with connectivity options like 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi, and USB OTG. The battery can deliver up to two days of usage. Other highlights of the phone include a face unlock feature and LED flash for both cameras.

Earlier, Micromax had launched a 30-day battery phone

Shubhodip Pal, Chief Marketing Officer, Micromax, said "We at Micromax have always been at the forefront of coming up with phones with extensive battery life and compelling product features. Not too long ago we were the first to give our consumers a 30-day battery phone."

Micromax Bharat 5 Pro vs Xiaomi Redmi 5

The base model of Xiaomi's Redmi 5 features a 5.7-inch display, 2 GB of RAM, 3,300 mAh battery, 12MP rear camera, 5MP front camera, and 16 GB inbuilt storage. The dual-SIM phone runs the MIUI 9 operating system and is powered by a 1.8 GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. Like the Bharat 5 Pro, it features LED selfie light and face recognition technology.
