Northern lights may illuminate parts of US tonight
Technology
Heads up—tonight could be your chance to catch the northern lights in the US!
Thanks to a burst of solar wind and a coronal mass ejection (CME) hitting Earth's magnetic field, NOAA says the auroras might show up as far south as states like Michigan, Minnesota, and even New York.
Many of these places don't often experience such a display.
When and where to look
The best time to spot the lights is from 4:00pm to 1:00am EST, starting at dusk tonight through early December 4.
For your best shot, find somewhere with dark, clear skies—city lights make it harder to see.
If conditions line up just right, the show could be even brighter than usual.
