NVIDIA unveils RTX 5050 GPU priced at $249
NVIDIA just dropped its new GeForce RTX 5050 GPUs, bringing ray tracing and DLSS 4 to more gamers.
The desktop card is priced at $249 with 8GB GDDR6 VRAM, while the laptop version starts at $999 and gets a bump to faster GDDR7 memory.
Laptop variant uses less power
The laptop variant keeps the same CUDA cores but uses less power (35W-100W).
You can already find some laptops packing this GPU in stores.
Over 150fps in Cyberpunk 2077 with DLSS on
NVIDIA says the RTX 5050 is about 60% faster than the old RTX 3050 in most games.
With DLSS 4 on, you can expect over 150fps in titles like Cyberpunk 2077 at full HD settings.
Desktop cards ship late July, with drivers rolling out earlier that month.
Desktop cards offer fewer CUDA cores
Sitting just below the RTX 5060, the RTX 5050 offers similar VRAM but fewer CUDA cores and older memory on desktops—so there's a noticeable performance gap if you're chasing ultra settings.
Still, it's a solid pick for mid-range gamers wanting NVIDIA's latest features without spending big.
