Pink Moon peaks Thursday morning but best seen Wednesday evening
Technology
The first full moon of spring, known as the "Pink Moon," will shine brightest early Thursday morning (April 2), but your best chance to see it is Wednesday evening when it rises.
Despite its name, the moon won't actually look pink: it's named after pink wildflowers that bloom in April, a nod to Native American traditions.
Pink Moon glows orange or gold
The Pink Moon glows orange or gold, thanks to Earth's atmosphere, and helps set the dates for Easter and Passover each year.
If you're in the UK try to catch it around Wednesday evening, April 1 if skies are clear.
For an extra treat, look for Spica, a binary star system near the moon in the Virgo constellation.
