According to DownDetector data, over 20,000 reports have been filed globally about the issue. The majority of complaints are related to the mobile app with around 60%, 33% for the website, and 8% for server connection issues.

As the outage continues, Reddit users have taken to social media platform X to voice their frustrations. Many have reported issues logging in properly on both the app and website. The complaints are particularly high for Reddit's Indian-specific site on DownDetector, with around 521 users reporting issues at its peak.

In light of the widespread outage, Reddit has acknowledged the problem and is working on a fix. "The issue has been identified and a fix is being implemented," said the company in its status section on its website.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is currently experiencing a major outage, impacting multiple cloud regions within the United States. The issue has been especially prevalent in the US-East-1 region, which accounts for 69% of all reports. The outage has also led to a surge in login issues on Reddit's Indian-specific website. So far, nearly 350 users have reported facing difficulties. Most of these complaints are related to the website (49%), followed by the app (44%) and server connections (7%).
