Samsung Galaxy A56 and A36 get security updates till 2032
Samsung just gave its mid-range Galaxy A56 5G and A36 phones a nice boost—security updates will now roll out until 2032.
The Galaxy Tab A11 series also gets extended support until 2032.
That's an extra year of protection beyond what Samsung originally promised.
OS upgrades still capped at 6 years
Here's the catch: while you'll keep getting security patches for longer, major Android and One UI upgrades stop after six years.
So, the A56 and A36 will only receive major Android and One UI upgrades until 2031.
If you want even longer OS support, Samsung's S25 flagships stretch it to seven years.
What this means for you
This move means your phone stays safer from bugs and threats for longer—even if it won't get new features forever.
For anyone planning to stick with their device a while, that extra peace of mind is pretty handy!
