Samsung is cooking up a new affordable smartwatch, possibly called the Galaxy Aero.
Spotted in the Galaxy Wearable app as "galaxy_RTOS_watch," this model appears to use a real-time operating system, which suggests it may not run Wear OS, making it simpler and likely cheaper than their usual smartwatches.
Samsung targets budget wearables with RTOS
With tech parts getting pricier and memory shortages expected until 2028, Samsung's shifting gears.
The Aero will probably use RTOS like their $60 Galaxy Fit 3, aiming at folks who want core features without breaking the bank.
After recent losses and higher prices for its top models, Samsung seems ready to take on budget-friendly rivals like Fitbit Air and Garmin Cirqa.
