The Aadhaar Data Vault (ADV) is a reinforced requirement by UIDAI to keep your Aadhaar number and info extra safe.
Instead of storing your real Aadhaar number, banks, fintechs, telecoms, and government agencies now use special tokens that stand in for the real thing.
Everything's locked down with top-grade encryption, and encryption keys are managed using secure hardware (HSMs).
