Apple October 30 event: Here's what you can expect

    What's the story

Just a month after unveiling the new set of iPhones, Apple is set to hold another hardware event on October 30.

At the Brooklyn Academy of Music in New York City, the Cupertino giant is expected to refresh some of its products.

We still don't know what's coming, but this is what the rumor mill indicates.

    Here's a sneak peek.

    iPad Pro

New iPad Pros with edge-to-edge displays, no home button

First up, the iPad Pro family, which was last refreshed in June 2017, could get an upgrade.

According to several leaks, Apple might launch two iPad Pro variants, introducing a revamped design with edge-to-edge displays.

The devices are said to run on the A12 Bionic chip and a custom Apple graphics chip.

Plus, the Lightning port is likely to be replaced with USB Type-C.

    MacBook Air

MacBook Air successor with bumped-up internals

As the current MacBook Air runs on a 5th generation processor from 2015, Apple might introduce a new variant of the laptop with modern features but the same affordable price.

Going by rumors, the company could be launching a MacBook Air successor with a 13-inch Retina display.

It could have the latest hardware, slimmer bezels, possibly Touch ID and USB-C support.

    Mac Mini

Mac Mini: Awaiting an update since 2014

Moving ahead, Apple might also introduce a new Mac Mini, which has not been updated since 2014, just when the iPad Pro family was introduced.

CEO Tim Cook has already said Mac Mini, which made an ideal Home Theatre personal Computer, has not been forgotten.

Meaning, we could see a new version of the machine with upgraded specs and features focused on professional users.

    Other upgrades

Also, Mac models could get improved internals

Apple might also upgrade the internals of some of its products, considering Intel's eight-generation processors are already out.

This could include a spec bump-up for the iMac and 12-inch MacBook, which haven't been refreshed in quite a while.

However, it is highly unlikely that Apple will refresh the Touch bar-enabled MacBook Pros or the iMac Pro as they are not even an year old.
