You can now chat with people on other apps via WhatsApp

WhatsApp is testing a new feature called "Third-party chats" that lets you message people on other apps—right from WhatsApp itself.
For now, it only works with BirdyChat and is available to users in Europe, as part of new EU rules pushing for more app compatibility.

Limitations of the new feature

With this beta, you can send texts, photos, videos, voice notes, and documents to BirdyChat users without leaving WhatsApp.
But don't expect all the usual perks—stickers and disappearing messages aren't supported yet.
Also, blocking someone on WhatsApp won't block them on connected apps unless those apps have similar features.
Only your phone number gets shared across platforms to help keep things private.
