YouTube TV loses Disney channels after contract dispute

Technology

YouTube TV just lost over 20 Disney-owned channels—including ESPN and ABC—after a contract standoff between Google and Disney on October 31, 2025.
The main issue? Both sides are arguing over pricing: Google says Disney wants higher fees to boost its other streaming services, while Disney claims Google is pushing for unfairly low rates.
Unlike their quick fix in 2021, this dispute is still dragging on with no end in sight.

Other changes for YouTube and Google Play users

To soften the blow, Google is offering YouTube TV users a $20 credit and has emailed steps for claiming it.
If you use Movies Anywhere, you might notice some movies missing—Google Play and YouTube have left the program, so new purchases won't sync anymore (but your old ones are still safe).
