Despite the injury, Sudharsan managed to complete the catch, dismissing Campbell. However, he was visibly in pain after the incident and had to leave the field. Devdutt Padikkal replaced him at short leg for the remainder of Day 2. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has confirmed that Sudharsan will not be fielding on Day 3 as a precautionary measure and is under observation by their medical team.
