Indian batter Sai Sudharsan will take the field on Day 3 of the ongoing 2nd Test against West Indies at Delhi's Arun Jaitley Stadium. The decision was taken as a precautionary measure after he suffered an impact injury on Day 2 while fielding at short leg. The incident occurred during West Indies's first innings when opener John Campbell's sweep shot hit Sudharsan's hand while he was trying to take cover.

Despite the injury, Sudharsan managed to complete the catch, dismissing Campbell. However, he was visibly in pain after the incident and had to leave the field. Devdutt Padikkal replaced him at short leg for the remainder of Day 2. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has confirmed that Sudharsan will not be fielding on Day 3 as a precautionary measure and is under observation by their medical team.
