ECB launches investigation into Brydon Carse's handcuff video: Details
What's the story
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) has launched an investigation into a video showing fast bowler Brydon Carse in handcuffs. The footage shows him being escorted by police officers from a nightclub in Derby on Saturday night. The incident is the latest in a string of off-field controversies involving England cricketers over the past year, raising concerns about their relationship with alcohol.
Match performance
Carse was celebrating Durham's victory over Derbyshire
Carse, who is part of England's squad for the first two Tests against Pakistan, was released to play in the County Championship for Durham after missing out on the final XI.
He scored 26 runs and took 2 wickets as Durham beat Derbyshire in three days.
The incident occurred while he was out celebrating with his teammates after this match.
Viral footage
Video of the incident is published
A short video showing Carse in handcuffs was later published by The Telegraph.
The footage shows him surrounded by police officers with his arms behind his back, talking to his Durham teammate Matthew Potts.
Ben Stokes, the former England captain who bowled Durham to victory on Saturday, is also seen in the background of this video.

Official response
Here is the ECB statement
The ECB has acknowledged the incident and said it is investigating.
"We are aware of an incident which is reported to have taken place in Derby last night, and are currently investigating," the board said.
The Derbyshire Constabulary was approached for comment on this matter, while Durham declined to comment on the same.
Injury update
Carse was set to return to international cricket
Carse was England's leading wicket-taker in last winter's Ashes series but has not played an international match this summer due to wrist and elbow injuries.
He was a late addition to the ODI squad against India but proved his fitness playing for Sunrisers Leeds in the Hundred.
Now, his involvement with the Test squad could be in doubt due to this incident.
Cultural concerns
Stokes and Atkinson were suspended earlier this summer
The incident comes as a major embarrassment for the ECB and raises more questions about curfews and players' relationship with alcohol.
Stokes and Gus Atkinson were suspended pending an investigation into their celebrations after England's first Test of the summer against New Zealand.
They were later cleared of any involvement in violent conduct at a nightclub but given written warnings after breaching "specific contractual obligations."
