Originally designed as an Undertaker-themed match, the format became so popular that now WWE has a 'Hell in a Cell' pay-per-view event every year.

Surprisingly, The Undertaker has lost the most number of times inside the cell, with 6 losses to his name, till date.
Shane McMahon holds the record of most losses with no wins, as he has entered the structure thrice, never leaving with a victory.
Mick Foley is also among the losers, with him entering the cell four times, with two losses and two no-contests.

There have been three matches inside the Hell in a Cell which failed to last more than 10 minutes.
