Indian's Sanju Samson made a ton of records in the ICC T20 World Cup 2026 final against New Zealand. He scored a blistering 89 runs off just 45 balls as India posted a massive 255/5 while batting first in Ahmedabad. This innings marked the highest individual score in a T20 World Cup final. Sanju Samson - 89 vs New Zealand, 2026 

Samson gave India a flying start in the aforementioned match. The opener played with his usual bravado, recording his third 85-plus score on the bounce. He first added 98 runs with fellow opener Abhishek Sharma (52) before further stitching 105 runs with Ishan Kishan (54). Samson departed for 89 off 46 balls, a knock laced with five fours and eight sixes. His efforts meant India posted 255/5 and later won by 96 runs.

Kane Williamson: 85 vs Australia, 2021

Kane Williamson of New Zealand owns the highest score by a captain in a T20 World Cup final match. He smashed 85 off 48 balls (10 fours and 3 sixes) while batting at three in the 2021 final against Australia in Dubai. However, his knock went in vain as Australia comfortably chased down 173 to lift the title. David Warner's 53-run knock eventually overpowered Williamson's knock.

Marlon Samuels: 85* vs England, 2016,

Former West Indies batter Marlon Samuels starred in the 2016 T20 WC final against England with an unbeaten 85 off 56 balls. He smashed 9 fours and 2 sixes as the Caribbeans chased down 156 in the final over at Kolkata's Eden Gardens. However, his knock was overshadowed by Carlos Brathwaite's four consecutive sixes in the last over which sealed the deal for WI.
