India vs Australia: Probable playing XI for the 1st ODI

Peter Handscomb was included in Australia's squad to replace injured opener Aaron Finch. Finch had suffered a calf injury six weeks back, and, he aggravated it during training. Meanwhile, Shikhar Dhawan will miss the first three ODIs so that he can stay by the side of his ailing wife. Let us find out the probable playing XI of both the teams for 1st ODI.

India, Australia promise second leg of riveting cricket

Australia tour India for the second time this year, and if the first tour was any indication, one can expect the rivalry to be fiercer this time. The test series back in the summer was a heated one filled with controversial moments and drama. The cricket, itself, was top draw with India edging past the Aussies 2-1 but this time things could be different.

How will India line up in the first ODI?

The first ODI is scheduled to be held on Sunday in Chennai. With Dhawan out of the squad, and Ravi Ashwin and Ravindra Jadeja being rested, India's line-up may undergo subtle changes. Here is what it may look like: KL Rahul, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli (c), Manish Pandey, MS Dhoni, Kedar Jadhav, Hardik Pandya, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Jasprit Bumrah.

How might Australia line up on Sunday?

Finch being out leaves Australia in a spot of bother. While Travis Head has been earmarked for the number 4 role, Cartwright underperformed in the warm-up game. The question remains who will open for them? Here's how Australia might line up: Peter Handscomb, David Warner, Steve Smith (c), Travis Head, Moises Henriques, Glenn Maxwell, Matthew Wade, James Faulkner, Adam Zampa, Patrick Cummins, Josh Hazlewood
