BCCI announces Team India squads for series against West Indies

Team India is set to face West Indies for three T20Is and three ODIs, starting December 6. Ahead of the historical Day-Night Test in Kolkata between India and Bangladesh, starting Friday, the BCCI selection committee announced the 15-member squads for the upcoming series at home. Virat Kohli will lead Team India after being rested for the T20Is against Bangladesh. Here are further details.

India up for second ODI series post 2019 World Cup

India will want to keep the performances strong in ODIs to get a boost in confidence. India have gone with a strong squad on offer with several senior players in the ranks. Shreyas Iyer has kept his place as the number four choice. Wrist-spinners Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav feature. Bhuvneshwar Kumar returns to the side. Shivam Dube is the pace all-rounder.

Here's India's ODI squad for the series against WI: Virat Kohli (captain), Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Rishabh Pant (wicket-keeper), KL Rahul, Shreyas Iyer, Manish Pandey, Kedar Jadhav, Shivam Dube, Ravindra Jadeja, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Deepak Chahar, Mohammed Shami and Bhuvneshwar Kumar.

T20Is: Khaleel and Krunal dropped, no place for Samson

This is India's third T20I series on home soil in recent times. They were earlier held by South Africa 1-1 and then the side enjoyed a 2-1 win against Bangladesh earlier this month. Left-arm pacer Khaleel Ahmed has lost his place in the side. Krunal Pandya and Rahul Chahar have also been left out. Promising Sanju Samson didn't find a place either.

Kuldeep, Bhuvi and Shami return to the T20I set-up

Bhuvi and Shami have been included in the T20I squad and will handle the show alongside the in-form Deepak Chahar. There's no Jasprit Bumrah in the side as expected. He is currently recovering from an injury alongside Hardik Pandya. Most importantly, left-arm wrist spinner Kuldeep Yadav finds a place in the team. Jadeja, who was earlier rested against Bangladesh, features as well.
