IPL 12: Here's how MI's starting XI could look like
Suryakumar Yadav and Evin Lewis are likely to open the innings after impressing last season. Sharma would want to promote himself up the order. Young wicket-keeper batsman Ishan Kishan and Yuvraj Singh come in the middle. Three all-rounders in Kieron Pollard, Krunal and Hardik Pandya will feature. Experienced pacers Jasprit Bumrah and Mitchell McClenaghan follow suit. Mayank Markande would be the lone premier spinner.
A look at the squad strength MI possess
Mumbai have several top-order batsmen and they have the requisite depth in the ranks. They can rotate well as per the needs. The all-round department boasts of character. Pandya brothers Hardik and Krunal are genuine match-winners. Kieron Pollard and Ben Cutting offer quality support. MI's pace bowling quartet looks strong. They have plenty of options to choose from. Bumrah is their leading pace bowler.
Areas where MI can struggle this time
The middle-order of Mumbai looks weak. Yuvraj Singh had a dismal campaign for KXIP last term and he isn't that agile on the field. Kishan lacks the consistency to be the match-winner. The bench lacks the depth as well. Besides Markande and Krunal, there are no quality spinners. This is an area where they could struggle.
