The 10 Indian Premier League franchises will need to submit the retention list on November 15. Ahead of the same, several franchises have decided on whom to retain and whom to release. As per ESPNcricinfo, the decision comes after a thorough evaluation of player performances in recent seasons. Here we look at the details of key players set to be released.
LSG
LSG's retention strategy for IPL 2026
Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) have decided to retain India pacer Mayank Yadav. However, the franchise will release leg-spinner Ravi Bishnoi, pacer Akash Deep and South African batter David Miller. Mayank, who underwent back surgery after IPL 2025, was a major concern for LSG during the retention process. The Delhi pacer had played only two matches in the 2025 season due to a back injury. However, he is currently undergoing rehabilitation and is expected to resume bowling soon.

CSK will release New Zealand stars Conway and Ravindra
Five-time IPL champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) are set to release New Zealand batters Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra. In IPL 2025, Ravindra made 191 runs at a strike rate of 128.18 and Conway scored 156 runs at a strike rate of 131.09. Meanwhile, apart from the New Zealand duo, Sam Curran has been traded out, along with Ravindra Jadeja, to Rajasthan Royals.

RCB will release Liam Livingstone
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are set to release England all-rounder Liam Livingstone ahead of the auction for IPL 2026. Livingstone scored 112 runs in eight innings at a strike rate of 133.33 with just one half-century. He also picked up two wickets. Apart from Livingstone, Mayank Agarwal, Blessing Muzarabani and Rasikh Dar will be released.
PBKS
PBKS to release as many as 7 players
Punjab Kings (PBKS) will be releasing at least seven players ahead of the auction for IPL 2026, as per ESPNcricinfo. Glenn Maxwell is the prominent name on this list. Maxwell had a dismal IPL 2025 season for PBKS. He suffered an injury midway in the season. Other players set to join Maxwell are Aaron Hardie, Kyle Jamieson, Kuldeep Sen, Praveen Dubey and Vishnu Vinod.

As per Cricbuzz, Kokata Knight Riders will be releasing the likes of Venkatesh Iyer, Quinton de Kock, Anrich Nortje. Mumbai Indians are set to release Englishmen Reece Topley and Will Jacks. Rajasthan Royals, who let Sanju Samson join CSK, will release Lhuan-dre Pretorius, Maheesh Theekshana, Fazalhaq Farooqi, and Kwena Maphaka. Apart from parting ways with Ravindra and Conway, CSK will release Rahul Tripathi, Deepak Hooda, Vijay Shankar, and Jamie Overton..
