Indian cricketer Karun Nair's cricketing journey is full of peaks and troughs. From being only the second triple-centurion ever for India to being banished from the team owing to poor form since 2017, Nair went through it all in his international career. Born in Jodhpur, he grew up in Karnataka. His debut for Karnataka was in a match against Goa in the Vijay Hazare Trophy in 2012. He made his first-class debut a year later in 2013 against Punjab. Nair's first Ranji season was very impressive as he scored three consecutive centuries and proved to be an important part of Karnataka's title-winning campaign. In the subsequent season, he scored his first triple-century in first-class cricket. Nair's sizzling form in the domestic circuit and India A earned him a national team call-up in 2015. But he wasn't given a chance to make his debut then. His international debut came in 2016 in an ODI against Zimbabwe. In the same year, he made his Test debut as well against England. In the third and final Test of the series, he scored 303* and became only the third player to convert their maiden century to a triple ton.
