Manish Krishnanand Pandey is a right-handed batsman who plays for the Indian cricket team, in the Indian Premier League and represents Karnataka in domestic cricket. Born on September 10, 1989, Pandey moved to Bangalore at the age of 15 years, and later joined Karnataka State Cricket Association. In 2008, he was part of the Indian squad for the Under-19 World Cup. Pandey entered the IPL in 2008 and played for Mumbai Indians. He was bought by Royal Challengers Bangalore in the 2009 edition of the IPL, during which he became the first player to score a century in the tournament. He played for Pune Warriors for the 2011 to 2013 IPL editions. In 2014, Kolkata Knight Riders bought him, and he played for the team for three consecutive years, till 2017. Since the 2018 IPL edition, he has been associated with Sunrisers Hyderabad. As of 2021, Pandey has played 153 IPL matches and maintained a batting average of 30.09. In July 2015, Pandey made his One Day International (ODI) and T20 International debut against Zimbabwe. During his maiden ODI match, he maintained a successful partnership of 144-runs with Kedar Jadhav and scored his first half-century. He replaced Yuvraj Singh for the 2016 T20 World Cup. In 2021, he was selected for India’s ODI tour of Sri Lanka. He is married to Indian actress Ashrita Shetty.
