Indian batting talisman Virat Kohli was named Player of the Series after India defeated South Africa in the third ODI to clinch the three-match series on Saturday. The 37-year-old scored an unbeaten 65 off just 45 balls to help India clinch a nine-wicket victory. The innings came after Kohli's centuries in both previous matches of the series. Virat Kohli - 11 awards
The one against South Africa was Kohli's 11th Player of the Series award in ODIs, as per Cricbuzz. This also includes his Player of the Series honor in the 2023 World Cup, where India finished as the runners-up. The second-highest run-getter in ODI history, Kohli has racked up 14,557 runs from 308 games at an average of over 58. His tally of 53 ODI tons is also the most for any batter (50s: 76).
Jayasuriya
Sanath Jayasuriya - 11 awards
Sri Lankan legend Sanath Jayasuriya also received 11 such awards in his stellar ODI career. He was the Player of the Tournament in SL's only ODI World Cup triumph to date, in 1996. Arguably the best all-rounder in the history of white-ball cricket, Jayasuriya tallied 13,430 runs at 32.36 across 445 ODIs. The left-arm spinner also claimed 323 scalps at 36.75. He is the only player in 10,000-run club to have taken 300-plus wickets (ODIs).

Sachin Tendulkar - 14 awards
The highest run-getter in ODI history, Sachin Tendulkar tops this list as well. During his illustrious career that spanned over two decades, Tendulkar scored 18,426 runs from 463 ODIs at an average of 44.83. He slammed 49 tons and 96 fifties in the format. Tendulkar also claimed 154 ODI wickets with the ball with the help of two fifers. Notably, he was named the Player of the Tourney in the 2003 WC, where India finished as runners-up.
