    What's the story

    Gujarat Titans suffered a defeat against Royal Challengers Bengaluru in Match 52 of the Indian Premier League 2024 season on Saturday.

    GT managed a score of 147/10 in 19.3 overs as RCB bowled well collectively.

    In response, the 92-run opening stand between Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis helped RCB set a foundation for the target.

    RCB won with four wickets to spare.

    Gujarat Titans register their lowest powerplay score in IPL

    As per ESPNcricinfo, GT registered their lowest score in the IPL. They faced a staggering 23 dot balls with the run rate reading 3.83.

    GT's previous best lowest score in the first six overs was 30/4 against Delhi Capitals earlier this season.

    Last season, GT managed 31/3 versus DC. The season before that, they scored 31/2 against Rajasthan Royals.

    In IPL 2024, Saha owns 136 runs across nine innings at 15.11.

    Siraj, who claimed 2/29 from his four overs, has 86 IPL scalps from 89 matches at 31.13.

    Tewatia completes 1,000 runs in IPL

    Gujarat Titans all-rounder Rahul Tewatia has completed 1,000 runs in the IPL.

    Tewatia scored a 35-run knock from 21 balls versus RCB. He hit five fours and a six. In 92 matches (65 innings), Tewatia has amassed 1,013 runs at 25.32.

    He owns a strike rate of 134.70.

    Faf du Plessis completes 1,500 runs for RCB

    Du Plessis has completed 1,500 runs for RCB in the IPL. The RCB skipper attained the milestone with his 14th run.

    Du Plessis scored a 23-ball 64, smashing 10 fours and three sixes (SR: 278.26).

    Playing his 41st match for RCB, du Plessis owns 1,550 runs, averaging just under 40. His strike rate is 148.18.

    He owns 148 fours and 66 sixes.

    T20s

    10,000 T20 runs for du Plessis

    Du Plessis completed 10,000 runs in T20 cricket. Du Plessis has become only the second South African batter to touch the 10,000-run mark in the format.

    He got to the 10,000-run mark with this 25th run in the contest.

    Du Plessis joined David Miller, who leads the tally among South African players in T20s. Miller owns 10,260 runs from 477 T20s at 35.25.

    Kohli scored 42 runs from 27 balls, striking at 155.56. He slammed four sixes and two fours. In 11 matches this season, Kohli has raced to 542 runs. He averages 67.75 (SR: 148.08).

    GT were 23/3 in the powerplay and they had to work hard thereafter. The likes of Shahrukh Khan, David Miller and Rahul Tewatia scored 30-plus scores to help the Titans surpass 140.

    RCB were off to a flier with du Plessis dictating the show. They were reduced to 117/6 thereafter before claiming victory.

    RCB's 92 runs in the powerplay against GT is their highest score in this phase in any IPL game.

    The previous highest by RCB was 79 against Kochi Tuskers Kerala in 2011 and against Sunrisers Hyderabad earlier this year.

    Kohli became the first Indian to complete 12,500 runs in T20 cricket. Playing his 387th T20 match (370 innings), Kohli owns 12,536 runs at 41.92 (SR: 134). He has hit 95 fifties besides nine tons in the format.

    The former RCB skipper has joined Gayle (14,562), Shoaib Malik (13,360), and Kieron Pollard (12,900) with 12,500 runs in the format.
