    On Day 8 of 2018 Wimbledon, there were no men's singles matches with the action being limited to women's quarter-finals. Serena Williams moved into the last four and was also joined by Angelique Kerber, Julia Gorges and Jelena Ostapenko. Men's singles section sees the quarters being played today with major names in fray. Here we look at the happenings of Day 8.

    Serena survives scare to reach semis

    Women's 23-time Grand Slam winner Serena Williams survived a scare to move into the last four of the Wimbledon 2018. Serena dropped the first set, but came back to seal the match 3-6, 6-3, 6-4 against Camila Giorgi. Williams will be up against 13th seed Julia Gorges of Germany in semis. She stated that she felt good and has a long way to go.

    Kerber to face Ostapenko in semis

    11th seed Angelique Kerber secured a semis berth at the Wimbledon after a 6-3, 7-5 win over Russia's Daria Kasatkina. The two-time Slam winner is the highest seed left this year in the competition. Kerber noted that both of them played a high level of tennis. The 30-year-old German will face 12th seed Jelena Ostapenko in the semis. Ostapenko overcame Dominika Cibulkova 7-5, 6-4.

    Women's semis when and where to watch?

    The semis of the women's singles section will be played on Thursday. They would be telecast live on the Star Sports Network. It can also be streamed live on Hotstar. The match timings are yet to be decided.

    Federer, Rafa eye progression on action-packed Day 9

    Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal are two matches away to be pitted against each other in the final of the Wimbledon. Federer has been superb touch as he faces a crunch battle against Kevin Anderson. Rafa has come this far for the first time since 2011 and will take on Juan Martin del-Potro. Meanwhile, Djokovic too is in fray and is up against Nishikori.

    Men's singles schedule and timings

    Federer and Anderson's match starts at 5:30 PM IST. At the same time Djokovic would lock horns with Nishikori. At 7:30 PM, one sees Nadal is in action as Raonic and Isner too face each other. The matches will be telecast live on Star Sports.
