After gaining a 267-run lead in the first innings, South Africa did not disappoint when they came out to bat for the second time. Aiden Markram and Elgar added 54 runs for the first wicket to lay the platform. Hashim Amla (16) and AB de Villiers (6) departed quickly, but the pair of Elgar and Faf made sure no more damage was done.
