    Sri Lanka and West Indies are set to take on each other in match number 39 of the ICC World Cup 2019 on Monday. The Lankans need to win in order to keep their slim chances alive for semis qualification. Windies will be eying to put in a better show. Here's the statistical preview.

    Head-to-head records between the two sides

    The two teams have met on seven occasions in the World Cup. West Indies have a 4-3 advantage. Their last meeting was in 2011 World Cup. Lanka won that match by 113 runs. Overall in ODIs, Lanka have won 26 matches, whereas, WI have pocketed 28 ties. Three matches didn't have any result.

    Top run-scorers for SL and SA in World Cup

    For Lanka, Kumar Sangakkara amassed the most runs in the World Cup. Sanga scored 1,532 runs and smashed five tons and seven fifties at an average of 56.74. Former legend Brian Lara has slammed the most runs for West Indies in the World Cup (1,225). He hit two hundreds and seven fifties.

    Top wicket-takers from SL and WI in World Cup

    Legendary off-spinner Muttiah Muralitharan holds the record for most scalps taken (68). He averaged 19.63 with the ball and played a strong role. Courtney Walsh picked up the most wickets for WI in the World Cup (27). He bowled at an excellent economy-rate of 3.46 and an average of 20.25.

    Chester-le-Street: A look at the ground stats

    England (314/4 versus Australia in 2018) have the highest team total here. England (99 versus Lanka in 2014) have the lowest team total as well. Ian Bell (206) has the most runs at this venue. Mahela Jayawardene (126* versus England in 2006) holds the highest individual score. Graeme Swann (9) has the most wickets at The Riverside Durham in Chester-le-Street.

    Pitch report, TV listing and timing

    According to reports, a bright day is expected at Chester-le-Street on Friday. We are expected to get a full game. The pitch could be a bit sluggish, but will improve as the game progresses. Anything above 270 will be par. The match is set to be telecast live on the Star Sports Network. It is scheduled for a 3:00 PM IST start.
