Chennai Super Kings (CSK) batter Urvil Patel smashed the second-fastest T20 century by an Indian in Gujarat's Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) 2025 Round 1 match against Services. The record-breaking innings came on Wednesday at Hyderabad's Gymkhana Ground, where Patel scored an unbeaten 119 off just 37 balls. His explosive knock included 12 fours and a whopping 10 sixes. Notably, this was his third century in SMAT.

Patel and Desai floor Services with 174-run opening stand

Batting first, Services scored 182/9 in 20 overs. Thereafter, chasing 183, Patel and his opening partner Aarya Desai added 174 runs for the opening wicket. This is now the 2nd-highest opening stand in SMAT history, as per ESPNcricinfo. Gujarat scored 183/2 in just 12.3 overs to win by 8 wickets.
