Bookings for the Bajaj Chetak scooter now open in Goa
Bajaj Auto has started accepting bookings for its Chetak scooter in Goa against a payment of Rs. 2,000. However, only the Premium variant is available there. As for the highlights, the scooter bears a retro-inspired design and gets a full-LED lighting setup. It runs on an electric powertrain and promises a range of up to 95km on a single charge.
Why does this story matter?
The Bajaj Chetak has been available in several cities in India for quite some time and now it will be introduced in Goa. It offers good looks and decent performance for an affordable price. The two-wheeler has been priced competitively on our shores and takes on rivals such as the Ola S1, Ola S1 Pro, Ather 450X, and the Simple One.
The scooter is offered in six colors
The Bajaj Chetak sits on a steel frame and has an indicator-mounted front apron, a flat footboard, a single-piece seat with a pillion grab rail, and an oval-shaped headlight. The scooter packs a digital instrument console, an all-LED setup for lighting, and rides on alloy wheels. It is available in six shades, including yellow, blue, red, hazelnut, white, and black.
It attains a top speed of 70km/h
The Bajaj Chetak draws power from a 3.8kW electric motor linked to a non-removable 3kWh Lithium-ion battery pack. The setup allows the vehicle to hit a top speed of 70km/h and promises a range of up to 95km per charge.
It gets a rear mono-shock unit
To ensure the rider's safety, the Bajaj Chetak is equipped with a disc/drum brake on the front wheel, a drum brake on the rear wheel, and a combined braking system for better handling on the roads. Suspension duties on the electric scooter are taken care of by a leading-link system on the front and a mono-shock unit on the rear side.
