Lucid's Chief Engineer Eric Bach departs amid leadership overhaul

Auto

Eric Bach, who has held senior engineering roles at Lucid Motors for 10 years, has decided to move on.
His exit comes just as the company is shaking up its leadership team, having recently launched the Gravity SUV and working on a new mid-sized EV for 2026.

Bach's exit is a significant loss for Lucid

Bach played a big role in Lucid's rise—he helped set records for electric vehicle range and pushed tech partnerships that leveled up their cars' performance.
His departure follows CEO Peter Rawlinson stepping down earlier this year, so it's another big shift for the company as it navigates some major changes.

Bach's impressive resume includes stints at Tesla and VW

Before joining Lucid in 2015, Bach was Director of Engineering at Tesla and spent over a decade at Volkswagen.
At Lucid, he climbed the ranks to Chief Engineer by 2021, leaving his mark on innovation.

Emad Dlala to take over from Bach

Emad Dlala, who's been with Lucid since 2015 overseeing powertrains, will now lead all things "Engineering and Digital."
