What's the story

McLaren Special Operations (MSO), the British luxury carmaker's bespoke personalization division, has unveiled a one-off model called Project Viva. The stunning vehicle pays homage to the vibrant spirit of Las Vegas. It was revealed ahead of the upcoming Las Vegas Grand Prix. The car embodies the city's iconic landmarks, lights, and energy through intricate monochrome paintwork and hand-crafted artistry.

Design

Project Viva's unique design and features

The Project Viva features a "Sketch in Motion" livery that reflects the movement and character of Las Vegas. It incorporates iconic signage, skyline landmarks, and elements of McLaren's racing and design heritage. The car is finished in a deep black color called Vegas Nights, specifically developed by MSO for this unique model. The finish has subtle flecks of cyan, magenta, and green to mimic the bright lights of Las Vegas at night.

Easter eggs

Hidden elements and tributes in Project Viva

The Project Viva features several hidden elements, including the "Welcome To Fabulous MSO" graphic on the bonnet. It is a reimagined version of Las Vegas's famous welcome sign. Other nods to the city's gambling scene and landmarks include 10 Constructors' Championship stars (nine white, one silver leaf) hand-applied by F1 drivers Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri. There are also silhouettes of McLaren's championship-winning cars mapped onto racetracks across the car.
