British luxury carmaker McLaren is gearing up to launch its first-ever performance SUV in 2028. The premium vehicle will be powered by a hybrid V8 engine, according to a report by Automotive News. The information was revealed during a global dealer meeting at the McLaren Creation Centre in Bicester, England.

SUV will be slightly larger than Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT
The upcoming SUV, internally dubbed as "P47," is said to be a five-seater hybrid. It will be slightly larger than the Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT and will sport 24-inch wheels. An attendee at the dealer meeting described the vehicle as "sculpted and muscular" with a strong presence that won't go unnoticed in the exotic SUV segment.

Hybrid coupe, special edition McLaren 750S to debut in 2027
McLaren's ambitious product plan extends through 2030, with new car debuts scheduled every year up to and including 2028. Among these is a hybrid coupe, expected to generate nearly 800hp from a V6 with mild-hybrid tech. This model is likely to debut in 2027 along with a final edition of the current McLaren 750S featuring roof scoop and larger rear wing.
