Nio's Firefly just snagged the 2026 World Urban Car title at the New York International Auto Show, a big moment for compact electric cars.
Daniel Jin, who leads Firefly at Nio, shared that their goal is to make getting around cities lighter, smarter, safer, and more in tune with everyday life.
Firefly chosen by 98 auto journalists
Firefly was picked by 98 auto journalists from 33 countries, beating out finalists like Baojun Yep Plus/Chevrolet Spark EUV and Hyundai Venue.
To even qualify, cars had to be under 4.25 meters long, made in at least 5,000 units a year, and sold in two major markets, so competition was tough!
