Somnath Chatterjee was the former Lok Sabha Speaker and was the member of CPI(M). He was born on July 25,1929 in Assam. He held the position of the Speaker in Lok Sabha from 2004 to 2009. Being a part of CPI(M) for 40 years, he represented it 10 times in parliament. He died on 13th August 2018 at the age of 89
