Tesla and 8 carmakers recall 4.3 million cars in China
Tesla and eight other carmakers are recalling a record 4.3 million cars in China because emergency door handles might not work during accidents, definitely not what you want in a crash.
Chinese regulators flagged the issue, and with safety rules getting stricter (hidden handles will be banned by 2027), automakers are moving fast to fix things.
Tesla updates software, rivals add labels
Tesla's recall covers almost three million Model 3, Y, S, and X vehicles made both locally and abroad.
Their fix? Remote software updates to help windows lower automatically after a collision and new warning labels for the handles.
Other brands like Xiaomi, Geely, Xpeng, and Leapmotor are also recalling over a million cars combined, mostly adding warning labels or updating software to keep drivers safer as techy features become more common in cars.
