Tesla faces NHTSA probe over robotaxi traffic violations
Tesla's new self-driving Robotaxis are under investigation after videos showed them making some risky moves during their first paid rides in Austin, Texas.
One clip captured a Model Y swerving from a left-turn-only lane into oncoming traffic and crossing a double-yellow line—definitely not what you want from an autonomous car.
Other footage showed the cars speeding and stopping suddenly in active lanes instead of pulling over safely.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is taking these incidents seriously, especially since they follow last year's recall of over 362,000 Teslas for similar concerns.
The agency is looking into whether Tesla's Full Self-Driving tech is following local laws and how it handles tricky situations like low visibility.
They've asked Tesla for more info after seeing these social media clips and want to know why remote support was needed to help the cars follow basic commands.
More regulatory action could be on the way as the investigation continues.
