City Detect raises $13 million to help cities run smoother
City Detect just scored $13 million in Series A funding, led by Prudence Venture Capital and joined by Zeal Capital Partners, Knoll Ventures, and Las Olas Venture Capital, pushing their total raise to $15 million.
The goal? Use AI to help cities spot problems faster.
AI scans images for issues like litter and graffiti
Launched in 2021, City Detect mounts cameras on fleet vehicles that drive around snapping photos of city streets.
Their AI then scans these images for things like graffiti, illegal dumping, littering, and code violations, handling thousands of inspections a week (way more than humans could do manually).
The startup is already active in 17 cities
City Detect is already active in 17 cities including Dallas and Miami. In Stockton alone, their tech snapped nearly 200,000 images and checked almost 40,000 properties.
Over in Atlanta, they flagged 1.5 million pieces of litter plus piles of tires and debris, and is a member of the GovAI Coalition and is SOC 2 Type II compliant.
