Profits on crypto transactions will be taxed at 30%: FM Sitharaman
What RBI will issue is a digital currency. Everything that prevails outside of it is assets being created by individuals & we are taxing profits made out of transactions of those assets, at 30%, FM Sitharaman said.
We are also tracking every trail of money in that (transaction of crypto assets) by imposing 1% TDS at every transaction, she added.

Fiscal Deficit estimated at 6.4% of GDP
The Fiscal Deficit in 2022-23 is estimated at 6.4% of GDP, which is consistent with the broad path of fiscal consolidation announced by me last year to reach a fiscal deficit level below 4.5% by 2025-26, Sitharaman said.
10% increase in defense budget
The Defence Ministry and the services have been allocated a total of Rs 5.25 lakh crores this year which is Rs 47,000 crores more from the last year’s 4.78 lakh crore. The allocation is around 10% increase from last year, Sitharaman said during her budget speech.
Rs 19,500 crore for PLI in Solar PV modules

30% tax on income from virtual digital assets
I propose to provide that any income from the transfer of any virtual digital asset shall be taxed at the rate of 30%. No deduction in respect of any expenditure or allowance shall be allowed while computing such income, except the cost of acquisition: FM Nirmala Sitharaman
Tax deduction increased to 14% for government employees
Both Centre and State government employees' tax deduction limit to be increased from 10% to 14% to help the social security benefits of state govt employees and bring them at par with the Central govt employees: FM Nirmala Sitharaman

New provision for filing an updated income tax return for payment for additional tax within two years from the relevant assessment year: FM Nirmala Sitharaman
