Luma AI just landed $900 million to build next-gen AI

Business

Luma AI has scored a massive $900 million in new funding, led by HUMAIN (backed by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund), plus big names like AMD and Andreessen Horowitz.
The cash will help Luma speed up work on advanced multimodal AGI—AI that can learn from video, audio, and language all at once.

What's Luma AI up to?

Luma is known for its World Models—AI systems that can understand and simulate the real world using all kinds of media.
Their main model, Ray3, is already powering creative tools through Adobe.
With over 130 researchers now on the team, Luma is eyeing new projects in simulation tech, design, and even robotics.

Big plans with HUMAIN

Luma and HUMAIN are teaming up for Project Halo—a giant AI supercluster begin deploying in Saudi Arabia in 2026.
This powerhouse will train huge multimodal models (like HUMAIN Create) that are built to fit local cultures across the Middle East and North Africa.
