NVIDIA might invest in AI start-up Perplexity at $30B valuation

NVIDIA is considering an investment in AI start-up Perplexity, The Information reported. The potential equity funding round could value the company at over $30 billion, a more than 50% increase from its last financing round a year ago. Perplexity's annualized revenue has risen to more than $750 million from less than $250 million at the start of the year, partly due to its cloud-based AI agent, Perplexity Computer.

Perplexity plans to go public in 2028
Earlier this year, Perplexity signed a $750 million agreement with Microsoft to use its Azure cloud service.
The company plans to go public in 2028, irrespective of market reception to the upcoming listings of Anthropic and OpenAI.
High-profile investors in Perplexity include Amazon founder Jeff Bezos and Japan's SoftBank Group, along with NVIDIA.
