Processed potato exports surge 450% in 3 years

Business

India's processed potato exports—specifically dehydrated potato granules and pellets—have surged by 450% in the last three years.
Exports of dehydrated potato products grew from $11.4 million in FY22 to $63.3 million in FY25, driven by increased cultivation of processing-grade potato varieties in Gujarat and Uttar Pradesh and rising demand from West Asia and South-East Asia.

Malaysia, Philippines, Indonesia are top buyers

Countries like Malaysia, the Philippines, and Indonesia are now top buyers, with Malaysia alone boosting its imports from $5.1 million to $22.1 million between FY22 and FY25.
More dehydration plants and contract farming in Gujarat have helped India hit $30.2 million in processed potato exports in just the first five months of FY26, making India a key player in Asia's snack food scene.
