Sensex slips to 73,511 points, Nifty settles above 22,300 mark

On Tuesday, the benchmark Sensex and Nifty indices witnessed a slump.
While the Sensex slipped by 383.69 points, or 0.52%, to 73,511.85 points, the Nifty shed 140.2 points, or 0.62%, to 22,302.5 points.
The midcap stocks also showed bearish signals, with the Nifty Midcap 50 dropping 2.04% to 13,874.7 points.

Who were the biggest gainers and losers?
The winning sectors in the stock market on Tuesday were NIFTY FMCG, NIFTY IT, and NIFTY CONSUMPTION, which rose 1.98%, 0.76%, and 0.02%, respectively.
The biggest stock gainers were HUL, Tech Mahindra, and Britannia, which climbed 5.2%, 2.55%, and 2.06%, respectively.
Among the biggest stock losers were Bajaj Auto, Power Grid Corporation, and ONGC, which plunged 3.98%, 3.62%, and 3.12%, respectively.

INR goes down 0.01% against the US Dollar
On Tuesday, the Indian Rupee (INR) edged 0.01% lower to ₹83.51 versus the US Dollar in the forex trade.
The gold and silver futures prices finished in red. While the gold futures dropped to ₹71,095, silver futures tumbled to settle at ₹82,645.
The crude oil futures were trading flat to settle at $78.46 per barrel.
