Vodafone Idea appoints new CEO amid ongoing financial struggles
Vodafone Idea has named Abhijit Kishore as its new CEO for the next three years, starting August 19, 2025.
He takes over from Akshaya Moondra at a tough time for the company, which is still dealing with big financial troubles and ongoing AGR dues.

Kishore isn't new to Vodafone Idea—he joined back in 2015 and was most recently the Chief Operating Officer.
He's got more than 27 years of telecom experience under his belt, including leading India's first 4G network launch in Gujarat and Kerala.
Moondra's tenure and achievements
Kishore follows Akshaya Moondra, who served as CEO since August 2022.
Moondra played a key role in merging Vodafone and Idea back in 2018 and focused on keeping the company financially stable during some rocky years.
