What's the story

Akshaye Khanna's performance in Dhurandhar has taken the internet by storm. The actor is being lauded for his portrayal of Rehman Dakait in Aditya Dhar's directorial. Moreover, the dance sequence set to Bahraini hip-hop artist Flipperachi's Fa9la, which features Khanna, is also a big hit with fans. In a recent interview, choreographer Vijay Ganguly opened up about the challenges faced by Khanna while shooting for this sequence.

On-set challenges

Khanna's oxygen levels dropped during the shoot

Ganguly revealed that while shooting for Fa9la in Ladakh, Khanna had to carry a small oxygen cylinder with him. "While we were shooting this song, his oxygen levels dropped." Ganguly told Mid-Day, "So, after each shot, he would put on the oxygen mask. He performed the sequence without hesitation."

Song details

'Fa9la' song and Khanna's unexpected dance move

The Fa9la song has become a viral sensation online. The choreographer also shared more about the track, saying it was a celebration of Khanna's character being honored as Sher-E-Baloch. "Initially, he was meant to enter, stroll through the dancers, and take his place on the throne." "Observing the atmosphere of the scene and the dancers' performance...he suggested he would dance a little as he walked in. None of us anticipated what he would do."

Efficiency

'Fa9lA' shoot completed in 2 hours

Despite the challenges, the entire song was shot in just two hours in Ladakh. Ganguly credited this efficiency to Khanna's talent. "It was the first shot we captured that day, and it was flawless. Then we did a close-up, and we were finished." "Akshaye knows precisely what he needs to do in a scene and plays with it." The movie also stars Ranveer Singh, Sara Arjun, Arjun Rampal, R Madhavan, and Sanjay Dutt in key roles.
