CBFC clears 'Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari' with these cuts

Ahead of its release on Thursday, the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) cleared the romantic comedy Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari with a U/A 13+ certificate. As per Bollywood Hungama, the CBFC did ask the makers for some changes before giving its nod. The movie stars Varun Dhawan and Janhvi Kapoor in lead roles and was released on the festive occasion of Dussehra on October 2.

The board asked the makers to mute the word "guard" used in a derogatory manner. The CBFC also wanted the film's lip-locking scenes to be trimmed by about 60%. Additionally, producers were told to add an anti-alcohol disclaimer. After these changes, the film was certified with a U/A 13+ certificate. The total runtime of Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari now sits at 135.45 minutes or 2 hours, 15 minutes, and 45 seconds.
Box office clash
Dhawan on box office clash with 'Kantara Chapter 1'
The film was released alongside Rishab Shetty's Kantara Chapter 1, which is a major box office contender. Speaking about the clash, Dhawan said in a statement, "Obviously, Kantara is a very big film. The first one was amazing. I loved it myself." "But our film is very different. I think there's more than enough space for all kinds of films," he added.
