Vijay's 'Jana Nayagan' to finally release in May?
What's the story
Thalapathy Vijay's much-anticipated film Jana Nayagan is expected to finally hit the big screens in May 2026, reported Valai Pechu. The movie, directed by H Vinoth, was earlier scheduled for January 9, but has been embroiled in conflict with the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) over its content. Now, it seems that the film will be screened by the Revising Committee of the CBFC on March 9 at 2:00pm.
Release strategy
'Jana Nayagan' likely to release in early May
If the censor process goes smoothly and the drama is finally granted a certificate, Jana Nayagan could be released in early May 2026. The filmmakers are reportedly planning to release the movie after the Tamil Nadu Assembly elections, which are likely to take place in late April or early May. This strategic move is aimed at maximizing the film's box office potential by avoiding clashes with other major releases.
